About the cattery

Coonity Maine Coons is a small non-profit cattery in Austria. I focus with all my love and dedication on raising healthy kittens with nice type and size and great temperaments. This is done with strict selection of the parents and by blending old rare lines with new foundation lines and modern showlines to achieve a very low inbreeding factor. Also, I am very concerned about suitable new homes for 'my babies', so please don't be surprised that we will ask you a whole lot of questions before we approve your request. If you are looking for garantees regarding size you are wrong here - I will not make any promises about future size or show success as I consider this unsound. But I am happy to give you garantees on the temperament of the kitten you get from me, and also provide insight in all health results of my breeding cats. :-) To further help a healthy breed I only rarely sell kittens for breeding - they should be top quality and I am very selective about them - but also about the breeders I sell to. Pet requests preferred. :-)
(Wir sind eine kleine Hobbyzucht aus österreich und konzentrieren uns auf die liebevolle Aufzucht dieser ursprünglichen amerikanischen Waldkatzenrasse aus Outcross-, Foundation- und Showlinien. Für uns haben Gesundheit, toller Charakter und seltene Linienkombinationen oberste Priorität. Wir sind sehr bemüht, unsere Babies auf die bestmöglichen Plätze zu vermitteln. Wundern Sie sich also nicht, da� wir viele Fragen stellen. ;-) Unseriöse Versprechen über die zukünftige Grösse oder irgendwelche Showerfolge unserer Babies werden Sie von uns nicht hören, denn das ist niemals vorhersehbar - dafür garantieren wir gerne für das Wesen unser 'Kinder' und geben Ihnen Einsicht in die Gesundheitsunterlagen aller unserer Zuchttiere. Im Sinne des gesunden Fortbestandes der Rasse sind wir sehr selektiv bei der Abgabe von Zuchttieren - sowohl von der Qualität der Kitten als auch der Züchter, die wir dafür auswählen - und bevorzugen Liebhaberanfragen.)

Comments on testing

All my breeding cats are tested for the above mentioned diseases before first mating. Heart- and kidney-echoes are repeated within recommended intervals, and are continued also after my breeding cats have been retired. (Alle meine Zuchtkatzen werden vor der ersten Verpaarung auf die oben angeführten Krankheiten getestet. Herz- und Nierenultraschalls werden in den empfohlenen Intervallen wiederholt und auch bei kastrierten Ex-Zuchtkatzen fortgesetzt.)
